Chief Eric Henderson

Eric Henderson is Chief of Police of the Dayton Police Department, sworn in in May 2026 as the first chief in more than 30 years to rise through every rank of the department. A lifelong Dayton resident and Dayton Public Schools graduate, he joined the force in 1999 and served as patrol officer, detective, bomb technician, major and deputy chief. Henderson is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police.
