Kleismit receives inaugural Kleismit Award, Baker takes reins as new President

On November 16, Leadership Ohio bestowed the inaugural Kleismit Award for Extraordinary Leadership in honor, and in the name of, outgoing Board President Todd Kleismit for his service to Leadership Ohio. Kleismit has guided the organization for three years as President during a time of transition and renewal, and is a Class of 2013 alum. Kleismit’s term ends December 31.

Kleismit received the award during this year’s graduation ceremony alongside Trustees who gave testimony to his efforts in guiding Leadership Ohio. Kleismit’s wife Lisa, and daughter Grace, were also in attendance.

“With Our Greatest Appreciation We Hereby Present Todd Kleismit The Inaugural KLEISMIT AWARD FOR EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP For Your Unwavering Support And Unrelenting Guidance In Leading Our Path To Success.” -Nan Baker, Council Member, Cuyahoga County Council

As Kleismit moves to an active President Emeritus status, he notes that he is committed to Leadership Ohio now more than ever. He passes the reigns to Nan Baker, unanimously selected by the Board to be LO’s new President. With Baker’s vision, 2020 will no doubt prove to be an auspicious year and launch into the new decade for Leadership Ohio.

Since 1994, LO has cultivated and elevated the inspiration of elected officials, cross-sector CEOs, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and servant-leaders from public and private walks of life— grassroots to grass-tops. LO seeks to inspire an already distinct group of individuals to a higher level of service.

This year's graduate leaders are prepared to contribute to and diversify boards, launch new businesses and initiatives, and champion critical issues politically and civically. Our Leaders are committed to serve, promote and affect change, making Ohio the best state to live and work.

We invite you to become an integral part of continuing a mission of service by nominating a Leader or applying to become a member of our Leadership Ohio 2020 cohort.
